The sun, salt water, chlorine, and sunscreen can be stressful for your swimwear and cause the color to fade, but with the right care, your swimwear should take you through seasons of fun! Read our tips below to keep your UPF50+ swimwear beautiful and functional. Take a pre-shower Follow good hygiene by showering before going into the pool, but there is another benefit to a pre-shower. Pool water contains chlorine and other chemicals, which are harmful to the fabric of swimwear. If you shower before entering the pool, your UPF50+ swimsuit fabric absorbs "regular" water, leaving less room for those harsh pool chemicals to enter the fabric. Rinse thoroughly Rinse your swimwear with cold water after every use. If it is necessary to wash your UPF50+ swimwear, always do so by hand. Fill your sink with cold water and add a little mild soap. Wash gently and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Do not soak your swimwear as this is bad for the fibers and causes them to lose their elasticity. Do not wring your swimwear. This causes the elastic to weaken and will directly affect the fit of your swimsuit.
